This is just a proposed road map for the x-over. Individual stories can be written at the discretion of the author, but we need to have a general road map (and one that can be expanded upon with time). I volunteer to write small 'interludes' between the Yearbook chapters, furthering the story and creating more of a cohesive feel (for what I'm talking about, check out the interludes Jess Nevins wrote the MV1 mega-crossover, the Kree-Shi'ar War). Anyway, here goes -- look it over and critique.
1999 EVENT ALPHA
This oneshot kicks off the event (by Chris Boll and Mike Hintze) and should introduce the major villains (Darques and VH2 Solar), and show the gradual effects of their scheme (folks disappearing from the future, for instance).
INTRO BOOKS
These books feature those characters who aren't really the cosmic types -- they focus mainly on showing how these heroes react to a world gone mad, with people disappearing and others merging. Some (like Bloodshot) may feature the VH1 and VH2 heroes meeting...
BOOKS INVOLVED : Ninjak, Bloodshot, Turok, Armorines,
CENTER BOOKS
These books get into the meat of the story, as the heroes become very aware of what's going on. More VH1/VH2 crossover stuff.
BOOKS INVOLVED : Timewalker, Pandora, X-O Manowar and Rai (set in the present)
END BOOKS
Here the heroes go on the offensive. Most of Team Harbinger, Rai, and Solar go to the Lost Land to battle the VH2 Solar (I'm not listing most of the VH2 heroes here, but I'm sure they'll have popped up by now and we decide more specifics later). Another minor detail -- as shown in Rai #0, Pete Stanchek is back in his ORIGINAL costume as of the 1999 Event and Archer Armstrong should be around for the storyline as well.
BOOKS INVOLVED : Solar, Shadowman, Team Harbinger, and HARDCorps
OMEGA
This issue (by Alex Maggi and Kell Carpenter?) wraps things up. Perhaps the heroes have returned from their 'End Books' adventures and gather at Darque's home in New Orleans -- the focal point of his plans. Perhaps we see the tearful 'deaths' of some of the VH2 heroes?
FALL-OUT
(A few folks die. Hey, guys, we don't want to ruin the WHOLE story for ya here. --HEROES)
Also, I think we could live with a FEW of the VH2 characters surviving somehow in our new post-1999 Event universe. Quantum and Woody seem popular -- others can be discussed.
Also, if there are any MAJOR VH2 fans, we could always insert a Secrets of the Valiant Universe issue into the middle books, showcasing more of the VH2 heroes that don't get much spotlight in our VH1-centered event.
What does everyone think so far?
