The new millenium has dawned upon us and with it a new wave of original, bizarre writer-created comic fiction. Welcome to the universe of Ashcore Press. A world looking to take on the DC's and Marvels starring a new line of characters created specifically for this project.
In June of 1999 an obscure little group called Ashcore Press was formed with only a small handful of titles. Though after a few months it had joined with another independent group called Landslide Entertainment, hence Landslide Press was created.
This group was not to last. Though it had a varying range of titles they all were to remain dormant until the official launch this month. Earlier due to an administrative error Landslide Press was finished, and all looked doomed for this new line until last month when Ashcore was announced to re-open in the new millenium.
The new Ashcore Press is open for the world to see with four titles to kick off our run:
The Demonchild by DJ Ferris - Jason Milgate, a soul hardened and lost in the complicated world around him. Only recently he's discovered his heritage and role as the Demonchild's host, and his destiny to defeat him.
Protector General by Mike Rehor - Protector General is a team of super-heroes gathered together by the United States government in order to protect the Earth from the forces of evil ranging from super-powered terrorists to alien aggression. Will this team be a success or failure?
Adventures of the Super Hero by James Pedrick - Prepare to enter BOOM! City, a metropolis filled with crooked politicians, sinister villains, mad scientists, evil clowns... and, oh yes, clones... and that's just after the first three issues. In such a city, there's only one hope: The Super Hero! Now if only he could get his tights on straight.
Wasteland by V-Man - This is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill fiction series. Think of this title as 'Star Trek' meets 'Sliders' meets 'The X-Files' run over by a Mack truck hauling such out-there concepts as quasality loops, non-linear time and anything else you can equate with astro/quantum physics, universal algorithms and the Cadbury Caramilk Secret.
As a new group Ashcore is still looking to do a large amount of expansion and we invite you to join if you have an idea. If you have any questions, comments or better yet ideas, then you can send them to me at demon_child31@hotmail.com or visit the site at http://lightning.prohosting.com/~ashcore/main.html or http://welcome.to/ashcore.
Here's to the new millenium!
