Our House Is A Very, Very, Very Fine House!

This is my Wonderful Husband™, Ashe.
We met on the net in a chat room in May of '96. I was dating someone at the time, but always felt something was special about him. I was hesitant, but he kept pursuing me. I'm glad he did because now I know I had been looking for him all my life.

This is Chrys, my roomie and best friend. We met through music and have been friends since the first day we met. I've known her for over 10 years now, and she's one of the few people who appreciate my biting sarcasm.

Sterling was abandoned by a family when they moved. A neighbor of theirs is a friend of mine and asked if we could take him. Seemingly a "Grumpy Old Man", Sterling's favorite thing to bring us is camellias. He spins them like tops when he thinks no one is looking. I floated some of the prettier ones in a bowl once and he stood guard over them looking smug for two days.

This is Kusala, the most extra-special kitten we have ever had in this house. When you hold her and she purrs all your tension melts away. She was found in Korea Town in some ivy. She was so far gone the vet said she wouldn't make it. She had no muscles to speak of, and, even though she had 4 week old teeth, she was the size of a 2 week old. Her stomach muscles never developed, so she cannot jump very high or hunt, but she took a cue from Sterling. She brings in fallen bottlebrush flowers --her own "kills" -- peeping proudly at the top of her little voice.

I named her Gigi 'cause Chrys told me I couldn't call her Greedy Guts. Boy could she eat when she was a kitten. She was a foundling in the Santa Monica mountains. She always has that "depressed teenager" look. She loves hunting birds and laying on top of the computer monitor. She thinks Ashe is the bees knees.

This cat is Bones Cornelius Leonard McCoy. He was brought home for my sister-in-law, but adopted my husband. Then Ashe moved in with Chrys and me and now Bones seems to prefer me. He's an indoor cat only 'cause he doesn't play well with others. He loves to play and climb when active, when he's "quiet" he lashes his tail. He always tips over his food bowl cause he's too lazy to put his head inside it.
