Note To The Reader: This is a single email role playing post I wrote for a Star Wars character I've been playing online for over five years. I had a wonderful page about her, but Go Network deleted it without even a warning they were going to do so! I may recreate it, but for now, I won't have the time. To briefly describe her, she is a Force user with the power of, basically, a goddess. She isn't considered Light or Dark, as her main talent is to balance the Force. (And I had that idea LONG before Episode One, so THERE! NYAH! **L**)

As Zisa Alyx's ship pulled out of the deep space resort, she was still in shock a bit. She still wondered at seeing the Jewel in Dolph's hand as he relinquished it to her. The goddess reflected that there was no need to return to the resort again, as she had gotten what she came for. Standing in an empty cargo hold in the cruiser Daydream, studying the Jewel of Dathomir floating in front of her, Zisa felt her daughter Braiden's life Force inside, lonely, but understanding that she wouldn't be trapped for too much longer. She listened blissfully to the recording of an aria called "Prisoner of Love" sung by the incomparable Apla Poxz. She found the title ironic. So what if she had made a promise to Dolph not to release Braiden's soul to the Force in exchange for the Jewel of Dathomir? Wasn't it a woman's perogative to change her mind? Besides, a balance had to be maintained, and she could feel that the Force was going out of balance. She could feel that there was too much Dark energy, while the Light seemed to be in a state of constant ebb with no flow. It had been that way since the death and soul imprisonment of Braiden. Zisa knew that only the release of Braiden's soul would satisfy the situation and restore balance to the Force. And Dolph killed Braiden Novalis, Goddess and Protector of Life, in anger. This was something that had to be balanced as well.

She frowned. Her husband had gone into madness at the death of his daughter, an alarming tinge of Chaos Force energy arising in him. Zisa knew, too, that going back on her promise to Dolph and breaking Braiden's emerald prison was the only way to restore the balance in Cormac's soul and bring him back to her. She pursed her lips remembering her anger welling up, her wanting to use all of her Force powers to crush Dolph Kueller like the insignificant person he was. She recalled going to him to try to understand why he had done what he had done and Dolph told her not to "lecture him" and had arrogantly added that he could help her set the balance within herself right. A lopsided grin crossed her face as she felt a Force "grin" from her stepdaughter within the depths of the gem.

"I know. I'm never out of balance."

The soprano's voice soared, then dipped again. She glanced at the Jewel of Dathomir noting how it hummed with the last small crescendo. Grinning at a nuance in the lyrics, she thought about the history of the Jewel of Dathomir. It was such a large emerald, and it was flawless. Countless spells and protections had been devised and sung over it to make it the Soul Catcher. It would hold a soul until the soul was released, or the gem broken and destroyed by the Anti-Gem, a large amethyst that was in five pieces right now and scattered, according to Alyx Corp. intelligence. It was said that the last person to touch the Jewel would be drawn into the depths of it if it was cracked or broken. Zisa had been very careful to never come in direct physical contact with the Jewel, keeping it in a pouch or levitating it as she was now. She sipped and shook her head. So evil. But it still had the beautiful, flawless crystaline structure that made it an extremely valuable emerald, too. No amount of spell work or Force use could change the crystal matrix of the Jewel of Dathomir.

She sipped some Zalarian wine as she listened raptly. Few people appreciated and many people didn't care for Apla's insectoid singing voice citing its upper harmonic content as being too rough a sound on the ear, too powerful a sound pulse for some beings to listen to comfortably, or even record easily.

It had become Zisa's favorite piece of music.

With deliberateness, she turned the volume up to maximum, then opened the cargo hold door. Taking her glass of wine, she left the Jewel levitating at the exact right height and distance in front of the music player. Sipping her wine, she smiled. She hit the button and the door closed, muffling most of the sound of the music as it shut. Only a muted version of Apla's incredible voice singing her anguished joy at full amplification could be heard now. Zisa stood just outside the cargo hold, as she thought of the first time she had played the recording at full volume.

Glass, small gems or crystals, even a diamond the size of a bowling ball -- a courting gift from Cormac that she used to wear on her belt -- all of these had been in the room when she had first played this recording. All had shattered when Apla Poxz hit the triple forte high notes in the final crescendo. It had cost her a small fortune to replace everything. It had been well worth it.

The crescendo was building now, and Zisa could hear it through the door. She heard the high notes, felt the wall reverberate at the same time she felt a tiny disturbance in the Force. Then a small sigh through the Force and her step-daughter's joyous laughter, revelling in her freedom. Then "it" happened. Light Force began to flow again, the Force regaining its balance.

The recording ended, and in a glow of pride, love and happiness, Zisa Tarru Matrus Alyx, Mistress of the House of Alyx, Jedi Goddess of Healing and Balance calls to Magyar, her starcruiser's pilot.

"Magy! Set a course for Ondooine."

Without waiting for a reply, the Goddess of Healing and Balance becomes the woman of housekeeping as she searches for a whisk broom and dustpan.

"After all, " she mused aloud, "it'd be a shame to let a good emerald go to waste."
