"Patoruzito" mensual,
Nº15. Published by Editorial Dante Quinterno, of Buenos Aires.
Although in this stage
there was no indication of issues date of appearance, I think they were
published around the middle '60s. The magazine had vanished for some time,
and the publisher tried a new approach, since readers apparently had lost
their taste for long "to-be-continued" comics. Now they presented a smaller
mag (half the size of the former), but totalizing 164 pages, covers included.
The contents were all complete stories, in black and white, but with a
poorer printing than the one the magazine had in past years, which showed
a rich black ink and 4-color centerfold. This was rotogravure in cheap
paper, resulting in a brownish look, with no color except for the covers,
which featured fine, pulp cover-like scenes, of some impact despite their
small size.
The contents ranged from
some DC stuff ("El Fiscal del Distrito" ["District Attorney"], "El Extranjero
Fantasma" ["The Fantom Stranger"]) to syndicated comics ("Juliet Jones",
"Buck Rogers" and "Etta Kett"), with
an humor section, both of Argentinian and American procedence,
"Patoruzito" being the main
character. A couple of adventures of "Robin Hood"
completed an enjoyable, collectible magazine. But its run was not
too long: in the '70s it
was gone (if I recall correctly).
