El Halcón Negro ("Blackhawk") Nº16

From "La Rueda Destructora" ("Destroying Wheel"), part of "El Halcón Negro" ("Blackhawk") Nº16, published in Mexico by Editora de periódicos "La Prensa" I selected, not the splash page, but page 2, for it's an excellent example of the superb comic storytelling style that characterized the title. It also shows the fighting efficiency of the blue-garbed team both in the heights and on land. In fact, Blackhawk himself addresses his men in the fifth panel of the page, encouraging them to attack the enemy in hand-to-hand fight: "You did all right among the clouds; let's see how you perform on land!" Reed Crandall's art illustrates in a masterful fashion both kinds of clashes, while the Bill Woolfolk script uses not a single word more than the needed amount.
