From the
same Alex Toth-crafted story, "El Espanto de Costa Bruta" ("Enigmas de
Ultratumba" Nº1), page 3 is a beautiful example of the artist's gift
to suggest horror and menace with no use of horrific images at all. Just
his mastery of the chiaroscuro, his superb layouts and the ominously-rendered
landscapes put the reader in the proper mood for the terrors which lay
just a couple of pages forward... Toth was also an ace in depicting science
fiction, crime and even Zorro yarns.
Some of this will, in
time, be shown in this site, for the enjoyment of fans.
