Fantástico" Nº37, published by Editora Sol, January 25, 1960.

Another fine page of "Speed Carter, Spaceman" -originally published in USA by Atlas- in the Mexican comic book "Fantástico", where he was called "Centella Carter" or "Paco Veloz, El Piloto Sideral". This one is the work of another big name of the '50s, George Tuska, who has also renowned by his crime comics. Comparing his vision of the character with that made by Joe Maneely (also present in this Gallery), one could note a more reallistic approach to anatomy, and perhaps a "tougher" look of the blond hero, whose hair was coiffed a little more "excentrically" in the Maneely's version. The diminutive shorts with which Tuska dressed him in this adventure, though, look maybe a bit more "provocative" than the spacesuit drawn by Maneely. Luring girl readers, perhaps? Tuska was a master in violent action and his use of black was powerfully dramatic. The scripts, usually by Hank Chapman, were always suspensful and dynamic. Pity the Carter saga lasted only for six issues. An entertaining and worth-collecting comic book, which I rate among the best in my files.
(From "Fantástico" Nº37, published by Editora Sol, January 25, 1960. Probably another reprint of the title, which must have appeared in the middle '50s., like the one illustrated by Joe Maneely).
