Five and Dime Boxed Set

Since September 1998, The Abaton Book Company has been publishing a series of unique art booklets called The Five and Dime. Using desktop equipment and office papers, we are able to present the work of well-known international artists in a simple, affordable manner.

On March 7th 2000 this series, 25 books in all, was released as a limited edition (200) boxed set. The release party took place at Jan Van der Donk Rare Books, Inc., 601 W.26th Street, NYC.

Recently, Five and Dime boxed sets were purchased by The Museum of Modern Art (NYC), The E.H. Bobst Library of New York University and The New York Public Library.

In her article "Culture at What Price?" Jami Attenberg says of The Five and Dime "Quite honestly this is a treasure trove of work... The results are simple, attractive pieces that convey the message of the artist, be it text, illustration, photograph or, in one instance, braille."
