Andrey KHARSHAK

Andrey Kharshak was born in 1950. He graduated the Graphic faculty of Academy of Art in St.-Petersburg. He is a member of Union of Russian Artists.

Andrey Kharshak works in the field of book-graphic as a painter-illustrator, in the field of easel-painting, in technique of colour-etching and gouache. He created illustrations to the literary works of A.S.Grin, R.L.Stivenson, A.N.Tolstoy and M.Bulgakov.

A lot of time the artist dedicated to creation of decorative and figure compositions in printing paints on paper. This technique allows to combine the arts of graphic and painting.

The last creative searchings of master concern with oil painting. He portrays the fragments of architecture of old buildings of St.-Petersburg. The painter himself determines this genre at the same time as still-life and landscape.

Andrey Kharshak is the regular participant of different exhibitions that take place in St.-Petersburg, in other cities of Russia and abroad (Finland, Germany, China, France, the Netherlands, Angola, Bulgaria, Cuba and others).

The works of Andrey Kharshak are in such museums and collections as: The Russian National Library, The State Museum of Russian Literature in St.-Petersburg, The State Museum of Russian Literature in Moscow, The Museum of History of St.-Petersburg, The Literary Museum in Odessa, The Art Gallery in Novosibirsk, The National Gallery in Sophia (Bulgaria), The Gallery "Cesar" (Sweden), the collection of Concern "Asko-Nobel" (Sweden, Netherlands), the collection of firm "Aselborn" (Germany), The Gallery "Konsthornan" (Sweden) etc.
