Alexander YASTREBENETSKIY
Alexander Yastrebenetskiy graduated the Graphic Facultee of the St.- Petersburg Academy of Arts, has worked fruitfully both as a painter and printmaker recently. The sphere of his artistic interests ranges from the cycle of his painting works united as it was by the Jorge Luis Borges formula "Populated Space" where landscapes imprinted in the artists memory by numerous travels are being transformed under the painters brush into non-existent, but mysteriously recognizable motives up to colour silk-screen in which Yastrebenetsky pays tribute to his deep passionate interest in American Pop-Art and Photorealism. Works of artist are in private and officious collections in Russia and abroad, such as: Tretyacov State Gallery, The Ministry of Culture of Russia, Pskov State Museum of Fine Arts, Kaliningrad and Norilsk State Galleries, "Arte Contemporaneo Museum" (Mexico), "Kunstmuseum" (Dusseldorf), etc.
