What is being a member of the Spiritual Sanctuary? | Log In to Members Only area | News in the Sanctuary | This is a group of people from all beliefs, all over the world, who come together to share their knowledge, inspirational messages, feelings and musings on all matters related to spirituality. We currently have over 60 members, all of whom participate in some way. To get a better idea of what we believe as a group, please visit our Philosophy section where we post literature that symbolizes our beliefs. Members are individuals who are involved in our Email list and contribute to the group in some way. A member may regularly post to the list, may add to our Message Board, belong to a Webring, or in some other way contribute to the function of our mission. We are in the process of growing and expanding, and in that process have developed Teams or Committees. Right now there are four Teams: Information: Leader: Ariania. The Information Team gathers literature in order to share knowledge with the group. Links, downloadable documents and items that can be posted on our site are just some of the items the Information Team is gathering. We are working on an online art gallery linking works of art to the artist's galleries, and a Music Room where we can listen and download spiritually oriented music. If you are interested in joining the Information Team, contact Information. Pagemaking:Leaders: Faerieroses and LordManx. It used to be a requirement for membership that each member had a website. That was so that each member had the opportunity to express his or her personal inspirations and spiritual knowledge on the web and so that everyone else could get to know that person better. Discussion: Leader: Teardrop. The Discussion Team is in charge of generating questions and suggestions that will stimulate discussion in our list. A page about this team is in construction, and as soon as it is available, we will post it here and to members. If you are interested in submitting a question or idea for discussion, contact Discussion Healing and Celebration: Leader: Amber. The Healing and Celebration Team is in charge of the transitions we celebrate at The Spiritual Sanctuary. They will honor our birthdays and other special events in our lives, gather us together when one of our members needs us, and help us to celebrate many of the holy days and holidays of the world's religions. If you would like to help this team, please contact Celebrations. Causes: Leader: Justin. The Causes Team is in charge of cultivating and promoting the causes that we believe in here at the Spiritual Sanctuary. We find ways of involving our group and the entire web community in causes that promote spiritual values, help people and groups to fulfill their lives and dreams, and put forward all effort to stamp out violence, hatred, and fear. Founders: The Founders are the people who oversee the running of the Spiritual Sanctuary. We are in charge of making sure the Email list, Message Board, Webrings, Awards, Guest Book, and all our other servies work and run smoothly. Well, we try... Stazi is the Administrator with other Founders being LordManx, DeVineLady, Lozen, Liila and Victoria. To become a member, you need to fill in the Join form and then you will be put on our Email list through Yahoo (used to be Egroups). The Join form will give more information about membership.
The log in below is for the Members of the Sanctuary ONLY. This password protected page holds the email addresses and websites as well as some other information on our members. We password protect for the privacy of our members. When becoming a member, you will have access to the Egroup club. That club has a file that holds the "username" and "password" for the log in page. The information on that page is gathered when an individual joins us and fills in the Join page form Need the Username/password? Email a Founder or go to the Egroup site's files section...
Spiritual Sanctuary
We have added to the Philosophy section a whole web of pages called The Inspirations. There is a page for quotes, poetry and other stuff... all postings of member contributions... particularly member creations. Leaders
and Helpers Liila has agreed to become a Co-Founder of this group. She has been a member from the beginning, has much experience with online organizations, and is a wonderful lady to boot! We are deciding together how this change will effect everything in the Sanctuary and I look forward to the input she will have! You can email her at Liila@spiritualsanctuary.place.cc Victoria has also agreed to become a Co-Founder. She has been a member from the beginning also, and has graced our site and our list with some wonderful work. Her spirit and energy are an example of why I created the Spiritual Sanctuary in the first place. We will be meeting with Liila and working out the direction for where the Spiritual Sanctuary will go from here. The Information team will collect links, scan documents, and gather information that we can use on our site. We are building on our Philosophy Page, creating a section on Inspirations quite like the sections on all the religions. We are also interested in building our Religion pages, where we provide information on many of the world's religions. Hopefully, we will also develop an Art Gallery, featuring the artwork of spiritually oriented artists, with links to their galleries online, as well as a Music Room, where we can have spiritual/inspirational music for the downloading. She will help the PageMaking Team in building of websites for members who would like one. The purpose of creating websites for members is that those sites get to hold the Spiritual Sanctuary webrings as well as give the site owner an opportunity to express his/her spirit on the web! She is going to help our discussion by generating questions to stimulate our minds. Greetings of the Spiritual Sanctuary It's new! And it's working!!!! There are some interesting graphics on there now, but we are interested in rotating them and changing and updating the site regularly. If you have a graphic, background or midi /wave to share, email Founders.
Teardrop has organized a site for the Question of the Week... at this site, we may email her with question suggestions, or view the guestbook of visitors to the site. The questions will be posted at that site and on the Message Board, where members and non members alike can respond. We can bring the discussion to our member sharing list as well....
As of right now we actually have two Spiritual Sanctuary rings. One is the Yahoo/webring ring, and the other is a RingSurf Netring. We also have a Bravenet ring, which is called the Interspirituality ring. The idea for an interspirituality webring was born from reading The Mystic Heart which is a nonfiction work discussion the principles and support for the notion of interspirituality. The idea of interspirituality encompasses the notion that all spiritual paths/religious paths really point to the same places and that the idea of spiritual does not mean ascribling to the "right" religion. Visit the link above to join a ring. We of course, also belong to a good many rings, and members and visitors may visit Honors to visit those. Most of our awards are also placed on that site, as well as memberships in organizations. If you know of a webring that might be suitable for us to join,or if you have any suggestions or questions about our webrings, email the Founders We got some feedback from the members of the Yahoo ring, and the consensus was that members wanted to stay with Yahoo... it was convenient for them. So, we will keep it going, but invite all members to join the RingSurf ring.
Book Review
We are interested in creating a section of the Sanctuary called The Review where we will review various media that is new on the market and attempts to reflect our values. For example, a discussion of Spiritual Literacy or Way of the Peaceful Warrior might be wonderful items that could be reviewed. The Yahoo Club is small and we are hoping to make it a successful as the rest of the Sanctuary. Invite people to check it out! Go visit this growing portion of the Spiritual Sanctuary! Many links have been added, and it is growing! For those members who have websites, please add your link to the registry, we would be proud to have you. There have been several additions to the Links program... people from the web who have visited the Sanctuary and have added their site to our registry... you might like to review their sites, and encourage them to visit again or even join us...
The Shoppe The Spiritual Sanctuary is opening three online shoppes. The Shoppes are still being configured. The websites have been down and under construction. If you are interested in cultivating the Shoppes, please contact Founders One Shoppe is for Gift items such as jewelry and religious goods. One for music, books and video, and an Art Gallery where there will be artwork for sale. We have commitments with vendors and artists for all three shoppes. Their configurations are being worked on. We hope to have it up and running in September 2001. An important factor in The Shoppe is that the profits will all go toward charitable causes. This requires Membership input. Not only to get people to come on into our stores, but to decide and make arrangements with different charities to accept the donations.
