Avril Benoit of CBC’s Busybodies at the Elvis ‘96 final. The show was broadcast across Canada and into the eastern states providing the contest with it’s biggest audience yet.

Johnny gives the most unusual performance. Vocally he just doesn’t have it but can this guy move. He has the desire but not the talent, but everyone is mesmerized by his hyper performance.

Shawn Barry hugs Gauthier after hearing he had won Lady Luck’s Elvis ‘99. It took a tie-breaker song to settle it, a rematch is called for. Two great performers.

Most Unusual Suit

|
Mr. Love, Alain Millette is one of Quebec’s original impersonators. He was the first suit Elvis I saw. He doesn’t sing or move badly, but at 5ft even he cannot possible achieve the effect the taller tribute artists can. He has been referred to as the heart of the contest and for the first time this year poor Alain couldn’t make it. He is very sick, he has been fighting cancer for years and he doesn’t appear to be doing that well. Get better Alain.

We have never seen a suit done quite like this but Elvis hopeful Robert had a pretty good voice and laid claim to being hockey’s Mario Lemieux cousin, and he brought the whole family, except Mario.
