Hawaii, December 1998

This picture was taken by the side of the highway on Maui. I fell in love with the car as much as I did with Maui. I really didn't want to give the car back at the end of our trip.

Belive it or not, I took this picture myself, it is not a postcard. I can't remember exactly where the picture was taken, but I think it was somewhere on the road to Hana. I think it's a darn good picture if I do say so myself.

The first picture was taken during a stop on the road to Hana. The other two were taken on a helicopter trip from Hana up to Haleakala and ending up in Kahalui.

This is a picture of Haleakala crater taken from the helicopter.

These five pictures were taken at stops on the road to Hana. The second one shows my roommate, Mark and myself in front of a waterfall. The third one shows me coming out of a waterfall pool.

This is a view of Maui from the ocean.

Both of these pictures were taken at the Maui Ocean Center. The first picture is a green sea turtle. You may have noticed that it is actually red. It is called a green sea turtle because the meat inside is green. These are a protected species now. The second picture is the state fish of Hawaii; Humuhumunukunukuapuaa. No, that's not a typo. I still find it hard to believe that Mother Nature ever put so many bright and different colors all in one animal.

This is a picture of Mark and I at the Royal Lahaina Resort Luau looking very touristy in our matching Hawaiian outfits.
