Welcome to the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Ring homepage. This ring is dedicated to connecting PKD patients, their friends, family and medical professionals. It is also an attempt to increase the visibility of PKD, which although it is not well known, is the number one life-threatening genetic disease. You do not have to have a whole site, or even a page dedicated to PKD, but you should be personally affected by the disease in some way. If you or a family member or friend have PKD and want to increase awareness of the disease or if you're a medical professional who deals with PKD regularly, then you qualify to join this ring. The only sites that will not be welcome to the ring are those that promote prejudice against any race, gender, creed or sexual orientation, sites which encourage violence or destruction for any reason and commercial porn sites. If you feel you meet the criteria above, I encourage you to join. By connecting PKD sufferers we can bring hope and acceptance. By raising awareness, hopefully we will help to find a cure.

I'd like to recommend anyone visiting this page to take a look at PKD chat & community. This is a community page with message boards, scheduled chats, links and PKD related articles. It is currently fairly small, but worth taking a look at. The owner of this community wanted to join the ring, but was unable to because the editor used by MSN will not allow the input of raw html.
