ROSEMALING
Rosemaling (rose painting) is a Norwegian Folk Art that is being revived
in parts of the US. We work in Telemark, Rogeland, Hallingdal, and
Gudbrandsdal styles of rosemaling. Each has specific characteristics.
Telemark is noted for the C and S scrolls, Rogeland has many repeats,
Halingdal is a mirror image, and Gudbrandsdal has leaves that are folded.
All have stylized flowers that are much the same, and all have lots of
detail with teardrops, dots and squiggles.
We meet at 8801 Celestial Place every Wednesday afternoon from 1pm to
4pm. Come and observe if you are not sure if you want to join us.
Hardanger embroidery will also be taught on request. Call before coming
to confirm the session is on. 755-4907.
