Sam Foote's Page of Important and Hard-to-Find Political and Cultural Texts

Purpose Of This Page
The most important feature of the Internet -- or so it seems to me, anyway -- is the ability it gives us to publish. Stuff that's important, but has been out of print and very hard or impossible to get can now be made available all over the world, to virtually anybody.
For a few years I've been making a list of important, unavailable works that should be on the Internet. A few of them have, in fact appeared, usually put up by people with access to an academic or other organizational Web server. In a handful of cases I've persuaded a friend to put up some text I think is important. But I've never had any such server access myself - til now.
Thanks to FortuneCity, I have tons of space for text -- twenty megabytes could contain a library. And "text" is what I'm interested in. You won't find any fancy graphics here. A few bullets, maybe occasionally some historically important photo. Mainly, this site is for texts.
I plan to spend my spare time finding, scanning, and -- alas, all too often -- retyping important documents that people need but can't find. When I get them all set up, I'll put them up. I'll submit them to the various Search Engines through Submit-It! or other facilities, so they can be located.
What Kind of Texts?
I'm interested in texts that support a class analysis of capitalism. The classics of Marxism, the works of Lenin, Mao, and others, have good homes on the Web, so you won't find them here. But other stuff -- useful, unavailable, often "forgotten" -- that is, deliberately kept out of print by the capitalist presses -- that's what I'm interested in. If you have any, or would like to recommend some, email me. Let's talk.
The first text I've been working on is up. It's Fatherland, by Karl Billinger, pseudonym of P.W. Massing, one of those few German Communists who was released from prison after the Nazis swept up the Communist Party leaders and most of the rank-and-file in 1933, and went on to help set up the Communist underground in Nazi Germany. It contains a wealth of lessons for us in this world today, in which fascism reigns in many places and is fast approaching virtually everywhere. Two weeks ago a friend of mine told me he had met someone on the Internet who said he had the whole text on disk! Now, everybody who wants it will be able to have it.
Ok, that's it for now. The main thing is: send me your texts, and recommendations! Naturally, they should fit the criteria above. No "conspiracy" crap, please!
Check back often. You'll find more stuff. It'll be worth it.
