Yangfen Zhang is an associate professor of linguistics in English and Chinese at Jiaying University,where he was awarded as one of the top teachers by the State Education Commission of China and the teachers of the year(1996,1995,1994)by his University.He obtained BA in English language and literature,and MA in linguistics from South China Normal University,and was funded for one year by the State Education Commission of China at Oxford University,where he worked on intercultural pragmatics. His main areas of interests are pragmatics,sociolinguistics,cultural linguistics and language acquisition,especially in intercultural pragmatics and second language acquisition.His current research project is "How culture affects language communication". He was born in 1964 in Guangdong,China,and is happily married and lives with his supportive wife and son in Meizhou,Guangdong. | ||||||||||||||||
