Ready for battle:
Four guns of this type was placed at Trondenes outside Harstad. All four remains today, one of them being open as a museum during the summer season. Only guided groups are allowed to enter, since the guns are still on restricted area. A twin battery was built on the island of Engeløy further south, as Batterie Dietl. The 40,6 cm. guns there were cut to scrap in the late fifties. More info follows on MKB Trondenes soon.
