This site is an informative and historically concerned site concerning the Atlantikwall & other (mainly German) WWII fortifications in
Norway. The reasons of making this site are because this is one of my main interests, and I have for years collected photos and
other information about German fortifications that excist in my county, Sogn & Fjordane, in Norway. Many people, especially
the younger generation, do not even know that Norway was occupied soon 60 years ago. Some of the most visible remains of
the German occupiers are just those about 400 forts and fortresses and numerous bunker complexes built in Norway during the
war, mainly along the coast. They may ask what those concrete formations that they see along the beach or wherever, are. And
the fact that slave labour occured on Norwegian soil in modern times, is something many people who are not old enough to
remember find hard to believe. So I'm making this site so that people can see what is remaing of the occupiers, and who
actually built those "concrete formations." When looking at the photos, try to imagine the hard work and the poor conditions the
slave workers was working and living under, and study the finished result. Where a fortress has been built without slave
workers, I will indicate this. The history behind these photos is important to know.
Ever since I was a little kid I have been fascinated with these constructions. How they were built, who built them, and for what
purpose. As a kid I was taken to see HKB 13./981 Lammetun,
one of the several German fortresses listed inside under my photo section that was built in my home-district during the war. Since then, the interest has just grown bigger, and it seems like I
am not the only one out there who's got this interest.
Please note that the pictures on the site are all mine from my private collection,
unless otherwise stated. I am not too keen on seeing them other places
without me knowing about it, so if you want to use my pictures in any connection, please
send me an e-mail and ask for permission.
Thank you.
