The large German batteries in Norway:

Batterie Dietl on the island of Engeløy in Nordland County, was one of the largest with its 40,6 cm. SK C/34 Krupp-guns, the so-called Adolf-guns. (Norwegian). Get German version here.
More Batterie Dietl. Page from Atlantikwall Website.
** Batterie Trondenes** near Harstad in Troms County. Main artillery same as in Batterie Dietl, 40,6 cm. SK C/34 Krupp, Adolf-guns. All the four guns remains, fully operational, one of them is open as a museum. The guns are the only 40,6 cm. of this sort remaining in the world, and are the worlds largest land-based guns for coastal defence. (Norwegian).
Batterie Trondenes, different webpage. (Norwegian).
Get some general information and two pics from Oddane Fort and Batterie Trondenes here. (Norwegian).
Batterie Vara near Kristiansand in Vest-Agder County. Was equipped with 38 cm. SK C/34 Krupp-guns. Still one fully operational gun left as a museum, plus two casemates. The gun is the only 38 cm. of this sort remaining in the world. (English).
Another Batterie Vara site, with pictures from the construction of the battery. (English).
Austrått Fort (MKB Örlandet), with one triple 28 cm. SK C/34 gun turret, turret "Caesar", from the German battleship Gneisenau. Turret restored and converted to museum, together with the underground tunnel system. The turret is the only part of Gneisenau's structure that remains in the world, apart from the armoured shield of turret "Bruno" at MKB Fjell west of Bergen, which still lies next to the turretshaft, cut up in big pieces. shaft after "Bruno" was cut to scrap in 1968. I took the photos, you'll find them at Atlantikwall Website.
Austrått Fort, further information and history. (Norwegian).
If you want to see a scale model of MKB Fjell, click here. The mid-section of the tumbnails on that page shows a detailed model of "the strongest fortress of the Atlantikwall in Northern Europe." When looking at the scale model of the tunnel-system, remember it is much more extensive than shown here. It is only the part of the tunnels that is preserved as a museum that are scaled. There was built over 3 km. of tunnels in the rock around the turret shaft.
