THE MADNESS OF DÁVID KOLODNY-NAGY

I lived in complete isolation, forcing myself to draw over and over and over again a single line. I tortured my mind and body beyond human endurance in order to find the thin blue line between hate and love, between genius and madness, between art and crap. I had to find my own style of drawing.

Ten years later I emerged from the darkness and revealed my drawings to the world. The first sound that met my ear was the remark of a discerning art critic. "Everything you draw looks like a Smurf!" exclaimed the lad. Incomprehensible! But his comment was followed by others. Some described my style as Hanna-Barbara meets Anime.

"What the #*!% do they know!?!" I cried out. I grabbed the sharpest object I could find and plunged it towards my heart.

But alas, the pencil was dull.
