Petrosani

elcome to the digital city of Petrosani, made by Ruben A. Koman!

Feb. 2008: This site will be updated step by step, for the first time in seven years! The main part of this site was created during my study, around the year 2001.

Ruben Koman & Ovidiu Costica in traditional clothingOn the following pages you will find information of Petrosani.Petrosani is a little village in the Romanian Carpathes in Transylvania: a beautiful place to spend your holidays! I have been in Romania a few times myself, because good friends of me live there.

On the following pages you will have the opportunity to get 'in touch' with the surroundings of Petrosani: Bradet, the Parangul Mountains, Lainici, Geoagiu, Hunedoara etc.
You will be able to read short facts about Petrosani: e.g. the visit of Jules Verne and the solareclipse in 1999, which I attended.
The culture and tourism of Petrosani will get a short and snappy chance.
In 'history' you can read about the origin of the Jiu Valley, the coal mining and Saint Varvara.
You can also see an overview of the best photos of Petrosani, including some of the photos of my own holiday. In 'stories' you can read a few stories out of newspapers.
Next to these topics you will find the best links to Petrosani-sites on the Web.

"Strangers only come very seldom to this part of Transylvania. That's a pity. This city deserves to be visited." (Jules Verne, 1828-1905). Enjoy your visit through the digital city ofPetrosani!
