Minazuki's grandfather, who is the head of a very large company, just acquired a painting.  Though he is a very kind man, a demon from the painting possesses him and changes his personality.  At school, Minazuki is being bullied by some boys because of something his possessed grandfather is accused of doing.  Maron and Miyako, coming to school, see this and chase the boys away.  They're mad, but Minazuki says maybe his grandfather did commit the crime because lately he's been acting really weird.  Usually he's kind, but now all he cares about is money.

Episode 9(Aired April 10 1999): Hijou no Checkmate (The Heartless Checkmate)
   The two kaitous battle all-out!!  Jeanne gets angry at Sinbad, who will use any means to accomplish a checkmate.  Sinbad gets angry at Jeanne, who can't be ruthless while seeking a checkmate.  It's the time for her to recognize the strictness necessary to save the hearts of humans from demons.
   The world-famous photographer, Miza???, is possessed by a demon.  But Miza's dreams of reliving the times when his daughter, now deceased, prevents Jeanne from checkmating.  And then Sinbad appears!

Episode 10(Aired April 17 1999): Kamen no Otoko! Honmono wa Dare Da (The Masked Man!  What is His True Identity?)
   The class president, who never does things all the way, one days suddenly changes into a super elite!  He discards his glasses and efficiently commands the class, becoming very popular.  He also tries to kiss Maron!  The previously secret longings of the president become clear.
   Jeanne runs to return the demon-possessed class president to his former self!  Destroy the card with which the class president became a demon magician with the pin of justice!

Episode 11(Aired April 24 1999): Aa, Utsukushiki Keiji no Kokoro (Aa, the Beautiful Heart of a Detective)
   An episode which spotlights the detectives under Toudaiji.  With the honest Haruda, who's full of his own strength, as the main character, the anguish of having a ciminal escape is depicted.  Natsuda. Akida, and Fuyuda also make wonderful appearances in female disguises.  They struggle desperately to save Haruda.
   A demon has taken possession of Haruda's heart!  Before the violently fighting detective, will it be Jeanne or Sinbad who gets the checkmate!?

 

Episode 12(Aired May 1 1999): Pin wa Ken Yori mo Tsyoshi! (The Pin is Stronger than the Sword!)
   Chiaki and Maron's opinions on love crash into each other!  Maron, who wants to believe in strong bonds between people, fiercely opposes Chiaki, who talks about people being easily separated because of fate.  The fight continues when they transform, and intensifies even more!
   Ootomo Shou?? and Matsuhara Saki are idols performing 'Romeo and Juliet'.  The couple, who were just about to get engaged, have been viciously ripped apart by a demon.  To protect love, Jeanne steals onto the stage.  Her chance will only last a second!  Now, the deciding checkmate!!

Episode 29 (Aired September 25 1999): Chou Bikei!  Nazo no Sensei Toujou (Totally Beautiful!  The Mysterious Teacher Appears)
   The minoins of the demon world, Noin and Mist, corner Maron, the reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc.  Mist uses mysterious candy to implant demons, directly attacking Maron.  Contrasting this, Noin becomes the student teacher Shikaidou Sei, and infiltrates Maron's school, Momokur Academy...
   Mist sends a candy to the beautiful painting 'Koufuku no Tenshi'(Angel of Happiness).  The student who painted it, Maron's classmate Hasegawa, begins acting strangely.  Maron approaches Hasegawa, who is busy 'fixing' the painting!

Episode 30 (Aired October 2 1999): Genki Fukkatsu de Moeru Toushi (Defender, Burning With Renewed Spirit)
Maron, transforming back from Jeanne, is seen by Shikaidou!  Maron, getting up her courage, asks Shikaidou about it and he answers that he saw nothing....  Slowly getting closer to Maron, Sei's careful plan progresses step by step.  Mist implants candy in the seeing-eye dog Ikaros, who helps the blind girl Tsugumi.  When Ikaros goes wild in the village streets, Inspector Toudaiji concludes that he must be shot.  Can Jeanne save Ikaros and support Tsugumi!?

Episode 31 (Aired Ocober 9 1999): Kaitou Tsui ni CM Shutsuen!? (The Kaitou is Doing a Commercial!?)
   With a studio as the stage, Jeanne conducts a decisive battle with both a demon and Miyako's group!  Also, don't miss the commercial dreamt up by the class president with him and Maron as the leads. 
   Maron the class president are going to be in a commerical together!?  But the producer needs to borrow100 man (about 10000$) to produce it?  The swindler Toukumo??? is trying to deceive Minazuki, who is the son of the Minazuki Group dynasty.  Anyways, After Mist implants a candy in Toukumo, the situation gets serious!  The plan changes from a con job into the execution of Jeanne.  Can she win against the demon's drill attack?

Episode 32 (Aired October 23 1999): Kaitou Jeanne Massatsu Shimei!! (Obliterate Kaitou Jeanne!!)
 Compared to Mist, who directly attacks Jeanne using demons, Noin seems like he's not doing anything.  But the small words that Noin has directed to Maron accumulate, and now their result starts to show...
   Mist plants a candy into Inspector Toudaiji's gun.  Seeing her father instruct his staff to kill Jeanne, Miyako grieves.  Will Maron be able to elude the detective's cold bullets and release him from the demon's hold!?  Kaitou Jeanne, checkmate!

Episode 33 (Aired October 30 1999): Usotsuki Sinbad!! (Sinbad You Liar!!)
  Maron discovers that Sinbad's true identity is Chiaki!  They kissed as Chiaki and Maron and have even performed a pretend marriage ceremony in a church, but their relationship falls to pieces after Maron finds out Chiaki's secret.  It is all part of Sei's(Demon Knight Noin) plan.
   Mist throws a candy into the church's pipe organ.  Maron's classmates, who have come to clean, all collapse!  A demon in church!?  Hurry, Jeanne!!

Episode 34 (Aired November 6 1999): Betsuri Sengen! Mou Daremo Shinjinai! (Declaration of Parting! I'll Never Believe Anyone Again!)
  Did Chiaki say 'I love you' just because I'm Jeanne...!?  Maron is battered by heartbreak and emptiness.  Only speaking the truth, Chiaki's admission that at first he only got close to Maron because she was Jeanne just deepens the misunderstanding. 
   Mist aims a candy at a field of beautiful flowers.  An old man who was painting the field suddenly jumps at Maron!  Can Chiaki help during Maron's crisis!?

Episode 35 (Aired November 13 1999): Jeanne Fukkatsu no Love Power! (The Power of Jeanne's Love Revived!)
  From Episode 14 (A Wedding Dress is the Target), Maron's sempai Kanako returns.  There's a new development in Kanako and Yamamatsuri's marriage.  Can Chiaki and Maron be bonded together like that?
   Mist implants a candy in the brooch shining from Kanako's dress.  Save Kanako, who disappears from Yamamatsuri and tries to finish Maron off!  Jeanne and Mist fight face-to-face for the first time!!

Episode 36 (Aired November 20 1999): Dorobou wa Keiji no Mikata ka!? (A Thief is on the Police's Side?!)
  Miyako seeks help from Jeanne!  She wants Jeanne to return her brother as to his former self, as he is acting strangely.  This story is based on Chapter 12 of the manga.  Sei, who left home to study geology abroad, has returned to Japan.  Mist implants a candy in Sei when he visits his family home.  Sei becomes enraged and leaves, turning on his invention of a man-made earthquake machine in an attempt to ensnare the village of Momokuri, now pitched into chaos.  Save the heart of Miyako's brother, Jeanne!

Episode 37 (Aired November 27 1999): Akuma no Shinzou o Motsu Shounen (The Boy With A Demon's Heart)
  At Nagoya Hospital, which Chiaki's father manages, Maron meets Zen. Seeing more than just a problem patient who tries to escape the hospital, Maron feels that Zen resembles her, having a barrier between him and his parents...From a popular chapter of the manga, this story has the author Tanemura Arina voice acting as a female nurse. 
   To Zen, whose afflicted heart gives out, Noin gives a demon heart.  Zen meets Maron, but every time he feels love, his demon heart reacts strongly against it, giving Zen great pain!

Episode 38 (Aired December 4 1999): Ketsudan!? Kanashimi no Checkmate (Resolution!? The Checkmate of Sadness)
  If the demon is checkmated Zen will die.  Not despairing, Maron tries to let Zen meet his parents, who never come to see him in the hospital.  Sei(Noin) pretends to try to help her.  How far do the demons intend to go, playing with humans' lives and emotions?
   With no way to save Zen, Maron can do nothing but stay by his side.  Not acknowledging any uncertainty, Sinbad shows up for the checkmate.  In this situation, the decision Jeanne comes to is!?  In the end will Zen live to see his parents!?

Episode 39 (Aired December 11 1999): Negai wa Hitotsu! Chichi to Haha ni (Just One Wish!  To Mother and Father)
  Noin was the lover of Jeanne D'Arc!  That is why he has been pursuing the one who owns Jeanne D'Arc's soul, Maron.  Also, it becomes clear that Maron's parents have had their souls kept by the Devil!  On top of this, Miyako declares that Jeanne is just a thief...
   Into a goodwill ambassador and his wife from England, Mist sends a candy.  Maron, who meets their daughter Cherry, transforms into Jeanne in order to return them to normal!

Episode 40 (Aired December 18, 1999): Jaaku Henshin! Mist Moukou (Dark Transformation!  Mist's Fierce Assault)
  Hearing that the Queen is going to descend, Mist rushes and tries to hold Jeanne with force.  Noin causes Maron to see dreams of Jeanne D'Arc, trying desperately to reawake Jeanne D'Arc's soul.  The two minions are finally serious!
   Mist takes several candies herself and accomplishes the change to demon form!  Against her miraculous power to turn away checkmates, Jeanne has nowhere to turn.  Jeanne, you must harmonize your heart with Sinbad's, and let the power of true love explode!

Episode 41 (Aired January 8 2000): Saikai Fin!! Gekiba Akumu (Reunion with Fin!! A Tragic Nightmare)
   Noin, Chiaki, Maron...heading towards the final story, each one's thoughts quicken!  And finally Fin returns!!  Something else to watch is the manga character Silk, Noin's partner, whose shape in which demons attack Chiaki.
   Sei draws near Maron, and tells her that he is really Noin, Jeanne D'Arc's lover.  He intends to kill Maron, releasing Jeanne' D'Arc's soul from inside Maron.  Can Chiaki protect her from Noin!?

Episode 42 (Aired January 15 2000): Kaitou, Jikuu o Koeru!! (Kaitou, Surpass Space & Time!)
  Maron slips through time to France in the Middle Ages!  What will Maron talk about when she speaks with Jeanne D'Arc?  How does Noin feel beside the woman he's loved for 500 years!?
  Fin, who has appeared as the Devil King's subordinate Fallen Angel, talks about how she was deceiving Maron the whole time she was with her.  When she aims an attack at Maron, whose Holy Barrier has disappeared because of her spiritual wounds, Access takes it and time/space is split!  Maron and the others fall into the split and disappear...

Episode 43 (Aired January 22 2000): Yuujou Houkai!? Mahyou Kessen (Friendship Collapse!? Magic Ice Final Battle)
  Her beloved friend Maron might be Kaitou Jeanne.  After hearing that rumour, Miyako energetically chases after Jeanne to prove it wrong, but now she sees Maron's transformation.  Her shock from being forever deceived by her best friend made worse by Fin's words, Miyako decides to fight Jeanne!
  In front of Jeanne and Chiaki, who have decided to head towards Fin's castle of ice, Miyako appears holding a golden gun.  At Jeanne's moment of emergency, suddenly Noin appears!

FINAL EPISODE 44 (Aired January 29 2000): Nanji! Kamikaze to Nare! (Thou!  Become the Heavenly Wind!)
  The final confrontation has come.  Using methods so underhanded they could be used by the Demon King himself, Fallen Angel Fin corners Maron.  But Maron, who has inscribed the will of Jeanne D'Arc in her heart, is invincible!  She becomes the warrior who has overcome all, and encompasses the fallen angel in her wings...
  Jeanne and Chiaki enter the castle of ice!  Shaking off an army of demons, Jeanne opens the 'Door of Lost Hope'.  In that world, Maron is hurt by her parents' bitter words, and her rosario is broken and scattered into pieces.
