A Separate Peace
Gene was a lonely, introverted intellectual. Phineas was a handsome, taunting, daredevil athlete. What happened to them at school one summer during World War II is the subject of A Separate Peace; by John Knowles
This book was extremely boring. It was well written, and did have several exciting chapters, but for the most part it didn't really go anywhere. People who take pleasure in reading the old classics may enjoy this, but people of a younger age most likely will not. We gave it two stars.

Lord Of The Flies
A group of English schoolboys are plane-wrecked on a deserted island during World War II. At first, the stranded boys cooperate, attempting to gather food, make shelters, and maintain signal fires. Ralph and Piggy are the boys in charge of running things. But although Ralph tries to impose order and delegate responsibility, there are many children who would rather swim, play, or hunt. Soon Ralph's rules are being ignored and even challenged. The situation gets worse and worse as civilization continues to fall away, until Ralph discovers that instead of being hunters, he and Piggy have become the hunted...
This book was good. It directly showed how the author William Golding viewed society: a group of civilized individuals with a nature for evil. But the book often went into unnecessary or boring detail, losing the reader and straying from the point Golding was trying to get across. We gave Lord Of The Flies three stars.

The Seventh Secret

All histories to date on Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun may have been wrong in one major respect. It is quite possible that Hitler and Braun did not commit suicide in the Fuhrerbunker in 1945. Both may have very well survived. I believe I have evidence to prove it. The note was from an old dentist in Berlin. Only that man suspected that no one knew what really happend to Hitler on that April day over forty years ago. But now four other people have joined together to find out the truth for themselves. And what they find may not only suprise them, but very well get them killed in the process...
This novel was fabulous. It was loaded with action, suspense, and just the right mix of sex. Anyone who enjoys reading with enjoy The Seventh Secret by Irving Wallace. We gave it four stars.

Ender's Game
Aliens have attacked earth twice and almost destroyed the human race. To make sure humans win the next war, the world government is breeding children to become military geniuses, and then training them in warfare. Ender Wiggin is one of the chosen children. And it turns out that he is not only one of the chosen children, but the chosen child, the one that will lead earth to victory. But time is running out, and if Ender fails, it could mean the end of the very existence of earth...
This book was very entertaining. It had one of the most original theme's i've ever seen from a science fiction novel, and gave me a new perspective on what alien life coudl be like if it exists. Anyone who enjoys sci-fi novels will enjoy Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. We gave it four stars.
