The Odysseys
The Oddysseys were written by Arthur C. Clarke.

Odyssey One takes place in 2001. David Bowman is the commander of the spaceship Discovery. His destination is a planet on the other side of the solar system. He is traveling with another navigator, three spacemen in hibernation, and a computer named HAL. Their mission is to find the second monolith. One has already been found on the moon. The monoliths are ancient artifacts that were left on planets millions of years ago. And since humans were only in the primitive stages of development back then, the monoliths can be only one thing- alien...

Odyssey Two takes place in 2010. Dr. Heywood Floyd, who over saw the Discovery mission in 2001, is sent with another ship and crew to recover and salvage the remains of the Discovery, after David Bowman mysteriously disappeard from the ship without a trace. But it's a race between them and the Chinese to see who can get there first, and with the headstart that the chinese have, it doesn't look like they have a chance of winning...

Odyssey Three takes place in 2061. Dr. Heywood Floyd is once again sent back into space, this time to rescue a ship and its crew that crashed on the ice moon Europa. But the monolith sent a message to earth forbidding anyone to land there, and who knows what the consequences will be...

Odyssey Four takes place in 3001. Frank Poole, who was left drifting frozen in space during the first Discovery mission, is now found and returned to life. But he finds himself in a world far different than the one he just left, and just as the monolith is beginning to stir again...
The First Three Choronicles of Narnia
Though The Choronicles Of Narnia are childrens' novels, they still remain as some of the best we have ever reviewed. The Choronicles of Narnia is a series of seven books written by C.S. Lewis. The order he wrote them is different than the order they take place. The first chronological three are sumarized below.

Book 1: The Magicians Nephew. Two young children named Digory and Polly meet and make friends during a summer in London. But Digory's Uncle happens to think he is a magician, and warps them to a strange forest full of ponds. The children find that by jumping into any different pond, they will be taken to another world. But at the first one they jump into, they accidentally release an evil witch who escapes from her dying planet with them to the land of Narnia, a newborn world that the witch threatens the very existence of...

Book 2: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. Four children are sent to live in the house of an old proffesor to avoid the air-raids in London during the war. But one of them, a girl named Lucy, walks into a wardrobe during a game of hide-and-seek and finds herself in the land of Narnia, a land where the animals talk and mythical creatures live. But Narnia is in a terrible state. It is always winter, and the ruler of the land is the same witch that Digory and Polly accidentally released many years ago...

Book 3: The Horse and His Boy. A few years after Narnia is freed from the grip of the snow witch, a young slave boy named Shasta from the land of Calormen decides to run away with his horse in search of Narnia, a land that he has heard wonderful things about. But he finds that the rulers of Calormen are planning a war against Narnia. And if they succeed, then many free people and animals will be made slaves to the tyrants of Calormen's royal family...
