Links of Interest: Hai Dong Gumdo
Daehan Hai Dong Gumdo Federation This link is for the Korean branch of the World Hai Dong Gumdo Federation. This site contains contact numbers by region and city for the Republic of Korea. The site has just been completely redesigned and will finally provide limited English content.
www.haedong.com This link is for the Hanguk Haedong Gumdo Federation homepage. This site services the smaller of the two groups here in Korea that teach essentially the same basic curriculum. Why they are separate is just another one of those things that seems to happen endlessly in Korean martial arts. This site is excellent. There is even a small section in English.
www.inote.com/~rlaska/gumdo1.html This is a second link for the World Hai Dong Gumdo Federation. It works but the site is very slow to load. In addition there is not much to read. Essentially it is a page filled with pictures but some of those pictures are worth seeing.
Korean Martial Arts FAQ This is a wonderful resource for any martial artist who seeks to expand their horizons or for those new to martial studies who need some suggestions or help.
KMAR Home Page This site has a wide array of video and printed materials pertaining to a diverse selection Korean martial arts.
Hankuk Haedong Geomdo This site is operated by a like minded soul who has also been a teacher for hire in pursuit of martial training. He is now residing and sharing his knowledge in Texas.
Links with no bearing to HDG
and very little to each other:
These links are places that I tend to frequent from time to time or at least feel like I should. Do not look for a rhyme or reason to their placement here for there is none.
American Dragons This link is to a friend's website. It covers his research and experience with two Korean martial arts - Tang Soo Do and Sim Do. The Sim Do Kwan was a school of sword study which is now closed. This may be your only chance to see images of this interesting style.
Aikido in Korea This link is to another friend's website. It covers his broad experience with martial arts, particularly Aikido. Training tips and explanatory video are only a part of what's available to find on this site.
White Wolf Game Studio Oh, like you couldn't guess I play role-playing games... I may be old but my mind still works. If it's a choice between imagination and camaraderie over the wasteland of television I'll pick the former everytime... unless Millenium is on. These days I'm out of luck either way. No gamers and Millenium is off the air.
Chaosium HomePage Did you read the tagline for the previous link? Did you laugh? If so, please read it again and pretend this is the first time you read it. Laugh again. If you didn't enjoy it then thank me now for sparing you a repeat reading.
J. Adam Boyd's Webpage This link connects to my brother's webpage. He's offended that my link to his page is not as prominent as his link to mine.
Korean Food This is an advertising site for a Korean cookbook. Korean dining can be a challenge for westerners especially on extended visits. The dishes provided on this site are a good representation.
Dave's ESL Cafe This is an incredible resource for everything to do with teaching English in a foreign land. You can find a job or plan a class.
