This page introduces African woman artist, Madalene Odundo and African American woman artist, Faith Ringgold, two of the artists discussed in Africana Women Artists taught by Dr. Olu Oguibe at the University of South Florida. The following descriptions give an overview of their lives and work. The aim of this course was to familiarize students to the work of an array of women artists of African descent and promote discussion of their work in context.
