The MIghty 2/3
We are 2/3 and we carry a heavy load, We went North and cleared the Khe Sahn road
When we reached Khe Sahn with a job well done, We were wanted elswhere so we had to run
We left Khe Sahn by trucks and planes, Only memories and debris were the remains
We were going South and we needed rest, But we had to keep pushing because they wanted the best
As we traveled South crossing every bridge, We thought about the lives given on "Foxtrot Ridge"
That was the night that the enemy hit hard, And the night that Echo dealt the card
This card that was dealt was the card of death, Where 12 brave Marines fought to their last brearth
No one Company climbs to fame, It just glorifies 2/3's name
So let us all be proud, like me

IN MEMORY OF A.J.JONES
On Thursday March 1st 2001 A.J.(Tony) Jones was buried with full Military Honors In his home town of Moultrie, Ga. Tony was the sparkplug of 2nd squad 2nd Plt. Tony was the Host of our Platoon Reunion last September. Thanks for dinging that NVA behind my fighting hole on Feb 28th 1967, I could always depend on you to watch my back, what am I going to do now? I told the rest of the guys up there to show you around, but Im sure after a few days you will be running the place. I can sleep better now knowing another Fine Marine has taken his position at the gates. Semper FI My Friend.
