The Generation Game is one
of the shows Rosemarie Ford is best known for. This popular gameshow
consisted of four sets of two contestants (who must be related
hence the name "generation" game) doing unusual things
such as line dancing, parachute packing, cake icing, etc., to
win a big prize.
It's always been hosted by
a man with a beautiful female hostess (Rosemarie Ford was the
second hostess for the show). The role of the female is to introduce
contestants, read out scores and also dance in the competitive
numbers (they often got the contestants to dance salsas or rock
and roll).
Many thanks to Greebo for this
bit on the Generation Game. She also added:
Rosemarie
wore the most beautiful dresses I've seen on a non-royal person.
Bruce Forsyth's Generation Game (the version that Rosie was on)
was extremely popular and ran for a long time.
Very nice addition I must say.
By the way this is a great picture of Rosemarie Ford doing two
of the things she's very good at--singing and looking amazing.

Rosemarie Ford took on the
Generation Game after finishing a run with the West End Cats
(Grizabella) in the second half of 1990. After a very popular
4 year run, Bruce Forsyth (host) left the show, and Rosemarie
went with him. The show continued with a new host, star of Big
Break, Jim Davidson. Rosie returned to West End Cats in 1995.
Now that you know a bit about
the show, here's a nice bank of shots I think you'll enjoy. Hope
you like my commentary. Click on thumbnail to see larger image.
