I learned how to make some stuff from Hawai'i. They are the ika'ika' which is the Hawai'ian warrior helmet. The ipu, single gourd drum, and the ipu heke, double gourd drum. I also am trying to learn the 'uli'uli, which is the feathered top shaker gourd :).
Here is a minature ipu heke that I made. I made two, one for each of my friends in the Calabash Crew.
Here is my friend Mat with me and my ipu heke, on the left. On the right is my friend Perla and me with my ipu heke a few minutes later. I think I got possessed by something those few seconds as you can see by the quite evil looking grin I am baring :)
