Ben Lee’s latest LP called "Something to RememberMe By" is very special. Firstly, the title sounds cool and timeless likesome of the great record titles such as "At Home and Abroad with the Steinbecks"(Steinbecks) and "The Wee Small Hours of the Morning" (Frank Sinatra).Come to think of it BEN LEE is a pretty cool name too. It has two wordseach with three letters and half of the letters are E’s.

The songs ? I think someone once described JonathanRichman as "feeling nostalgic for a time that hasn’t come yet". Well BenLee does too. And I think if you buy "Something to Remember me by" you’llprobably feel sad and happy at the same time.........that’s the best kindof feeling.

I sent this little written interview to Ben Lee sometime late last year. I guess there’s a lot more I’d like to ask him now,but here it is anyway.........

I thought I was writing grunge songs. I’d never (moreimportantly) heard of lo-fi or anything like that. I know it’s quite laughable, but in 1993 I thought I was doing the norm.

to hit him. How do you respond to criticism ?

I just brace myself and attempt to develop a full-bodyepidermal callus to defend myself against thrown beer-cans.
