Till June 15, 1998, I only knew CATS as a great theater play. I only had seen it once, many years ago, performed by a group of students. That time I was nearly forced to go to the performance. When I came out, I was really surprised: I didn't understand a single word, I was in the last row, so I didn't see anything that happened on stage... But I heard the melodies in my head for weeks, til they were silenced by time and other events. This happened in the spring of 1993, when I was 13 years old.

When in the summer of 1998, I went to the United States for the first time, mainly to New York, I had it in mind to see this masterwork, but my motive more than interest, was curiosity. I had heard some rumors, and I had spoken with a few people about it.
I spent two weeks there before I even saw the place that sometime later became my paradise: the Winter Garden Theater. Four days more flew away before I decided to buy a ticket and attend the performance. I took care with my funds, so I bought a place in the back of the mezzanine, a place that later gave me a beautiful sight, but a little bit too far away to be seen properly...
A week before I came back to Spain I sat on that seat and I never stood up again. That day, on June 16th, 1998, my life changed completely.

Once back at home, with as many souvenirs from the show as I could buy, and with only a memory of my well preserved money, I went to the Internet with the hope of finding some information about CATS. Instead of that, I found a family. Sometime later, I was a part of it. To that family, which has given me so much and hasn't´t asked me for anything, only courtesy and friendship, I dedicate these lines and this page.

Author of "The Catsmeow", the first page I found and visited, and it surprised me totally. Some time ago, and after the closing of that wonderful page, a new one opened, Jellicleball.com. She knows everything about the IV American Tour of CATS. Enthusiastic and devoted fan of the show, she´s a reference point for everyone who wants to know something about this marvelous work by Andrew Lloyd Webber. More than once she was more patient with me than anyone else. Certainly a cat that you don´t find twice in your life. From here my most meek thanks. I just hope to communicate that somehow.

He´s synonymous with CATS. Hector isn't´t a stranger at the Winter Garden at all. After seeing the show over 600 times, since it opened in 1982, you could think he´s a part of the staff. After so many years he can tell you a lot of events and experiences. He has seen the play´s evolution over the years and how each scene has changed to fit new actors and actresses. So really, you can appreciate that his experience makes his opinions more valuable than any reviews about CATS over the years. He has shown more than once his good will with this poor cat, and he is always a support for those unsuspecting souls who step into this marvelous Jellicle world. I owe him many favors, and I just hope to be here if he needs me, like he has been for me so many times. From here my most meek greetings.

It´s very difficult to find some stuff about CATS on the Net. Hundreds of pictures, besides his critic-proof creativity, make this cat the essential ingredient without which most of the pages on the Net wouldn't´t exist. So you can´t say CATS is a typical American social phenomenon, because Vlado, living in Germany, has shown the group the great work the Hamburg cast of CATS does. Thanks to him we can see pictures from this production, that probably would be in the background without him. His page, one of the best ones, with a version in German, reaches hundreds of fans, or just plainly curious people. From here I want to send my best wishes for this notorious cat and his hard work.

Everything you could say about this queen is not enough: nice, lovely, respectful, crazy... A feline you don´t find twice in a lifetime. From the first time I met her I only can remember good moments, and those are a lot. With her I´I've learned to understand the other cats and, the most important thing, to know myself. I owe her some much that a whole life dedicated to her wouldn't´t be near enough to pay her for that. The first and maybe only cat I would search to find advice, support, friendship and love... From here I would like to send to my crazy kitty all my love.

She´s much more than special... If madness and unstoppability would have a name, it would be hers. A cat that from the first time caught my attention, and without her staying with the Jellicles would be very boring. She doesn't´t hesitate to put a little silliness into every situation, although she knows how to handle some of the most serious situations. It isn't´t unusual to find her with the other cats on the Net, and it´s a true spectacle and enjoyment to be next to her. Because of those marvelous moments of silliness, happiness and feline madness, I thank you very much...
