Glory Bound

I woke up this morning

And put on my clothes

But there wasn't

Anyplace for me to go

They closed down the mill

And turned out the lights

Foreman said

"Foreigners done bought up all your rights

I wanted to stay here in my hometown

But they moved off and left me

When the mill closed down

They boarded up the stores

Closed up the Bank

Even scraped the name

Off of the county water tank

They say the south is rising

They say we're glory bound

But there ain't no glory

In a one mill town
