Character Profile - Otowa Hyoko


- You could think that, as Kazama Kagetsu is Banjin's model, Kazama Sougetsu (also from Samurai
Spirits) is Otowa's model, but that's wrong. There's no personality models for Otowa. Just I 
imagined the "An Ch'i master" as a concept and I imagined him as a mean bastard. Maybe this is
something like Kanryuu.
In the beginning, I had intended to make these five people from the Revenge Arc the worst 
bastards possible, since there were many guys from the Juppon Gatana (Ten Swords) that didn't
deserve hatred. But I found out that this is very difficult. I didn't expect so much hardship
in drawing characters that had little philosophy and beliefs in an appealing way.
About Otowa, I had intended to make him a more mean cruel sadistic bastard, but I couldn't 
accomplish that. Now I'm trying to improve myself to overcome such problems.

- The motif of the design isn't Kazama Sougetsu either, but it's a original character that was
created before the series begun, a character with tons of lipstick and a bit homosexual like. 
I intended to use it someday, but only now the chance appeared. And about the six neck 
accessories, I took them from Sinister, from X-Men's Age of Apocalypse.
Personally I think its design is quite good, what do you think?
