Character Profile - Himura Kenji (and the others in Meiji 15th) - The motif for his personality is simply "stupid". Well, somewhat similar to Iori. Actually, the very need of a child of Kenshin and Kaoru made Kenji appear. He's quite a clichée, but I thought, "I don't care if it's a clichée! I don't care if his appearance was too obvious! I had to put him in the story, right?!", and therefore he appeared in the story. I am not so twisted to insert weird thoughts in this happy ending, you hear? (<- who?) Later, Kenji develops all the talent he has running in his blood. He becomes such a genius that he is able to learn some of the Hiten Mitsurugi techniques just by listening to stories about them. However, his personality isn't flawless, and as a genius, he becomes a bit warped, growing up to be a young man more twisted than Saitou and more egocentric than Shishio. Eventually, he will fight with Myoujin Shin-ya, the bright and obstinate son of Yahiko and Tsubame, in a duel to decide who will be the keeper of the Hiten Mitsurugi style and of the sakabatou. Such is the "after story" that I vaguely imagined for "Rurouni Kenshin", but I don't think I'll write it. - About the motif of his design, it's "a small Kenshin", as it's said in the series. And, about the other characters: I had planned to cut Kenshin's hair for quite a long time. Actually, his hair was to be shorter, and I had drawn some sketches of him, but I thought that people might complain that he was too similar to Maruchi or Aoi from "To Heart", so I changed the design to the one you saw. Kaoru isn't Kaoru if she has no ponytail, but she doesn't look like a mother if she had that ponytail, so after many attempts, I got this not-so-good design through trial and error. I drew Yahiko as a cool character that would make everyone say, "I want to read a story with Yahiko as a protagonist!" His basis is Yahiko, his body is Kenshin and his behavior is Sano, something like that. I am very happy that many people noticed the small kanji for "evil" on his back. Like Yahiko, I drew Tsubame as a cute character that would make everyone say, "I want to read a story with Tsubame as a heroin!" About the weird (?) maid outfit, I was going to use it in my next work, but I thought that would be too late, so I put such clothes on Tsubame as a final joke from me (but, anyway, that outfit was supposed to be a waitress's outfit...). About the ones who didn't appear in this chapter due to the lack of pages (Sanosuke, Megumi, Misao, Aoshi and Saitou), they are going to be featured in the Kenshin Kaden, all of them as of Meiji 15th. Hope you like them.
