In the beginning of this year SVT, the Swedish Television, broadcast a special titled Ulvaeus & Gessle i Burmans Spår (Ulvaeus & Gessle on Burman's Tracks). It was mostly about Anders Burman, the record producer. ABBA and Roxette were featured briefly, because there was a connection - both have recorded in Mr. Burman's Metronome Studio

The absolute highlight in the programme was the short clip of Agnetha and Frida laying down the vocals for Dancing Queen. All the more fascinating, because it featured part of the verse that was eventually cut from the released version.

The clip shown in the Burman special omitted the first line, but it was included in the Musikindustrin documentary a couple of months later as if there had been a strategy to feed the ABBA fans this precious treasure from the vaults in tiny portions. The clip in the latter programme also included the following verse ("You're a teaser you...) This clip was originally part of an SVT documentary from the 70's, titled Mr. Trendsetter. It was about Stig Anderson and had an ironic tone to it.

This clip is partly featured in the new ABBA documentary that's currently (Spring/Summer 1999) making its way around the globe. I find there is still justification for this site,
because here you can enjoy the whole of the deleted verse.

Please note that to play the MPG-files you will need the latest Windows Media Player. The one that came with Windows95/NT is too old and thus won't do it for you. The current one can be downloaded FOC from the download center at Microsoft website.

I urge you to share this URL http://victorian.fortunecity.com/stanmer/348/ with all ABBA fans you possibly can reach. This belongs to all of us.
