Be Yourself--Be
An Individual

One thing people seem to have forgotten these days is that we are all individuals. We are all somebody, we don't need to be a part of a subculture to make us something. And we're not saying most people haven't figured this lesson out for themselves, but for those who haven't: "GROW THE F#CK UP"! Being considered a Goth doesn't just make you somebody. Be your f#cking self. That's who you are. Gothic Rock, Darkwave, Ambient, Industrial etc. are all different types of music. We're not ragging on anybody for dressing the way they dress, or in beleving the things they believe. It's just that too many people are trying to fit into a particualar Gothic image and are just ruining it for the rest of us, who want to be ourselves. Just be yourself. Don't be an image, for that is not even what Gothic is about. It's about breaking rules, destroying boundaries, and creating new things. It's about being yourself. Be the person you are to please yourself, not to please other people or to prove how Goth you are. By trying too hard to be Gothic, you create a counter affect. If you really are a Goth, it comes naturally, from listening to who you are on the inside. Individuals are what keep the Gothic movement alive. And if you want to keep it alive--BE AN INDIVIDUAL, BE YOURSELF!
