This page is dedicated to the memory of Rozz Williams. For though he may have moved on to another realm, he will always remain a part of this one.
The day I found out he had departed I was under a spell. It makes me so sad to
know that a person felt so tormented they thought it best to leave life to others. Later on it
felt so odd to be listening to his voice while realizing Rozz would never again capture such
reflections upon living in a world with such torment; that never again could there be such words as
his, that overflow with such emotion and never again could there be such a voice as his, one that
pulls you into a curtain of shadows and sorrow as you fight to be released because of your
fear of knowing yourself.
But I soon realized that even though Rozz Williams is gone, his art can never be destroyed and
his impact on on others will never vanish.
Rozz Williams was not just another musician, he was an artist. One that expressed himself in words, with great care and complectity. He stared the band, Christian Death, in his garage in 78'. The band released their first album in 82', Only Theater Of Pain. Although Christian Death is acknowledge as the front running American Gothic band, most people do not acknowledge the fact that at the time they were developing their own style, they were unaware of the emergence of the early English Gothic Rock scene. They were the most influential band in American Gothic music.
