12 Thoughts in today`s anguish by those thinking about the Almighty God.

a) Talking about God is always difficult but God-talk must be attempted as a means of expressing the discernment understood. To deny the value of past statements is adolescent and not a sign of maturity. While new approaches may be valuable they must prove their value and are not to be just clever diversions from established truth.

(b) Christology as a dogma should be reviewed. However, the basic fact that humanity is an eternal part of God because of the Christ Event, is required for us to know how God handles our existence.

(c) The problems and tendencies we inherit and need to be involved in, are a perversion and a distortion of the original way things should be. The fact is, we do not start our life with all things being equal and waiting for our contribution. An inclination to deny God, and the way things should be, exists and is a factor to be overcome.

(d) The Virgin Birth says, by a breakthrough, not just by an enhancement of the normal, Jesus Christ is uniquely, genuinely and permanently God and Man. Humanity is from that moment a part of God.

(e) The world is not a closed universe subject to regulations we insist are to observed. Such a preconceived set of laws would be of their very nature arrogant, claiming that we already know how everything works. The world is open to extra-ordinary acts of God; that is, miracles.

(f) The sacrifice of a parent for a child affects the situation, the sacrifice of a soldier for the country affects the nation, the sacrifice of a scientist for progress affects humanity; and the sacrifice of God in Jesus Christ affects the whole of our world.

(g) The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is more than an endorsement of Jesus' life. It is more than a vision of the future, and it is more than a consciousness of what Jesus was on about. The Resurrection is trans-physical and tells us this life matters and is transformed into a greater reality.

(h) The Ascension presents the fact of where Our Lord Jesus Christ is now. This is a position which cannot be ignored by the culture of today, and particularly by the Church and its structure. The symbolic presentation states the position.

(i) The Bible as the Record of the Revelation shows that religion cannot be separated from the ethical demands which are associated with it. These demands are not to be left to vague premises

exposed to rationalizations to suit the circumstances, but are indicated in the Holy Book`s account.

(j) Prayer maintains the Personal control God has of the earth. There is no reason to be obsessed with an historical inevitability, or an inclination to be left with a nature/ superstition,

which can only be manipulated in some gross materialistic manner. God expects us to ask for all things and in all ways.

(k) Heaven and Hell are not a bribe tactic for us to be good. They are basically not a ploy of punishment and reward so we will not live a selfish life. They are the consequences of the value of life at present, life with God or life without God.

(l) Everything is God`s and the evidence of our responsibility is that we are to be developers not vandals. God is everything; and other things have the value He has placed on them. To make God behave as if He is human is Blasphemy, to deny what we have been clearly shown is to offend the Spirit of God.
