The New Eden
A lithograph which originally appeared in THE GOLDEN HIND, Issue 1 October 1922. Re-Published in THE IMAGES AND ORACLES OF AUSTIN OSMAN SPARE by KENNETH GRANT, Weiser 1975. This image had such a strong impact on myself and Elda Isela, I felt I was in DIRECT COMMUNICATION with the vampire spirit above the woman captured in dream. This lithograph literally, along with Four Flying Witches, led to my writing of THE BOOK OF THE WITCH MOON. The moon first drew me in, closer and closer. I am convinced this is of course an image of AOS but also his hidden self, The Black Eagle, which could only be a lunar aspect of the subconscious. This vampire spirit could possibly be in base something born through the psychic aspects of the dreaming mind. A tarot card ever changing?
