Distance Education

Distance Education courses offer classes to students at their choice of locations. Distance education from NSU's main campus is delivered through live interactive classes. These classes use multimedia technology in each site's electronic classroom and link students and faculty throughout the YSU System. Sites with electronic classrooms are A, B, C, and D.. Classes are taught by an instructor from the host classroom. Students in distance classrooms see and talk with the instructor and other students at all class sites through two-way audio and two-way video microwave transmission.

Live interactive courses allow students to take classes at System sites other than the site where the teacher is located. Students attend class in the traditional setting with enhanced content presentation. Because transmission permits two-way audio and two-way video, students and faculty at all sites openly communicate. An on-site facilitator is present to represent faculty at the distance sites. Students register for live interactive classes at the site where the class is attended.

Enrollment in distance education courses is through the usual University procedures. Information regarding admission to State Universitiy is available from the Office of Admissions
