TRUESPEL - The First Worldwide Standard SpellingTruespel is the world’s first standard phonetic spelling which marks stress that is based solely on English common usage of roman characters for phonetic spelling. It enables us to instantly read and write all languages. Traditional orthography (TO) for English consists of 40 sounds (phonemes). All 40 sounds are present in the following story:

TRUESPEL RULES
1. Silent "e" moves from the end of the word to the right of the vowel it makes long (plate = plaet). Therefore, the long vowels are spelled ae, ee, ie, oe, ue. (e. g., sundae, see, pie, toe, true)2. Voiced "th" is spelled "th" (that), but unvoiced "th" is spelled "thh" (thhin).
3. "G" is always hard. "Y" is always a consonant.
4. "X," "Q," and "C (alone)" are not needed and can be used for foreign sounds.
5. An apostrophe (’) indicates a glottal (glo’le) stop.
6. The first syllable in a word is the default accented syllable. The accent shifts to the syllable after a double consonant (example, desert and dessert), except for "sh" "ch" "zh" "th" and "thh" which double the first letter (thh =tthh) for accenting. A double consonant at the beginning of a word accents it in the sentence.
Below are the 17 vowels and 23 consonants of Truespel for English.. The consonants are the same as TO but for "zh" and "thh." The vowels require the most standardization. The words below representing the vowel sounds spelled correctly both in TO and truespel.40 phonemes

In tabular form, Truespel looks like ALC Fonetic. The unique aspect of TS is the use of double consonants to mark stress: dubool kaansunint leed u stresd silubool. Although based on the same principles, passages written in TS and Fonetic look quite different. Because it uses double consonants to mark stress, a passage written in Truespel will be about 10% longer than one written in ALC fonetic. Passages in TO (traditional orthography) can be converted to Truespel using the Automated Spelling Converter:

6 checked + 6 unchecked + 5 diphthongs + 4 ending with schwa = 21 essential vowelsOnly when the free vowel is followed by a consonant does it need to be distinguished from a closely related short vowel.

The peach colored cells are not included in the Jones/Wijk essential phoneme inventory.
All checked vowels (vowels which are checked or stopped by a consonant) are short and all free vowels, with the exception of schwa in an initial position, are long. If a vowel occurs at the end of a word, it is by definition a free vowel and does not need to be distinguished from a checked vowel. Thus "See mie haloe" could be "Se mi halo." or "Si m'y halo." in CKS.Benifits

Comments & Questions [send any questions you may have to rapidrytr@fcmail.com][sb] What is the rule that allows true spell to alter between c and k for the /k/ sound.
[tz] Truespel does not alternate. There is no [c] in TS. /k/ is always k. The problem was generated by the incomplete dictionary used with the BTRSPL and perlscript spelling converters. This will be corrected soon.[sb] Is the o ever used alone?
[tz] No, the [o] is never used alone: only in combinations such as ou, oe,or,....
