Alphabet for the Millennium
An augmented 39 letter phonemic alphabet based
on a Midland English pronunciation.

chart is inserted to compare a phonemic ASCII notation and an extended
notation. Many combinations are not illustrated.
[Below left] The 39 A2K characters
include some but not all diphthongs. [a

is used for schwa. An r shape is used as an extender replacing the
color [:] in IPA. [awe]=o: = or

The character set above is matched
to the standard keybard as shown on the left. The hw [psi] symbol
replaces the capital W. The th [theta] symbol replaces the capital
T. The shape of the capital Y is changed to look like a rotated h.
The hook [turned omega] replaces the the capital U. The ey [lower
case A] replaces the upper case A, alpha replaces the lower case [a]. |

At the current time there is no AM font - the examples are contrived and
may not be entirely accurate.
The next step would be to create an ascii version which will identify
the keyboard positions for the AM font.
Comments
I really like Tony Burn's "Alphabet
for the Millennium."
It is elegant and accurate.
-David Kelley, [Ph.D., Linguistics]
--------
Since there is no Millennial K in A2K, I would prefer BM - Burns' Millennial
Notation
Regarding your attempt to provide a text sample of my notation:
1) No vowel extender required at the end of 'daughter',
'mother' or 'answer'. These are short vowels.
2) Second vowel in 'treasures' should be a schwa;
use Z at the end instead of S. /treZ@z/
3) S for center (it isn't pronounced 'kenter'); again,
no vowel extender at the end.
[c always = /k/ in
this notation, it is not like Spanglish where ce -ci = se-si]
4) Vowel extender needed for 'blue'. /blu:/
5) 'Question' should be CWESTYEN (consonantal Y;
schwa for second E).
6) Schwa instead of vowel extender needed at the
end of 'desire'. /di:zai@/

Handwriting with upper case [to be added]
Single case version of BM
Note the 3 Y shapes used
in this script. [y, i:, and ai]
----------
There are some digraphs in BM. ar, er, @r, or
Unifon uses an extender for four long vowels a: o: u: @:
i:=y, ai=Y, ei=a
Contrasting Burns'
Millennium with other augmented alphabets.
BM isolates 45 sounds with 39 symbols. This is sufficient to transcribe
anything written in IPA.
UNIFON treis to get by with fewer phonograms. There is no true
schwa and no /a:/.
Malone's UNIFON has no [ long a ]. CAR is usually KauR
[kxr]. [ah] and [awe] are merged.
In the case of [or] [ah, awe and owe] are merged.
The turned e is ambiguous. ERTH crT
and HER hcr but not THE Du
Ynifon claims to be free of digraphs but
this is not entirely true.
R combinations are not included in the alphabet.
BM does away with digraphs for ei and ai as well as dh, th, ch, wh,
kh,
Traditional English has many digraphs and code overlaps, these scripts
don't
