Franz's youngest and favorite sister Ottla (1892-1943), at age 18. She was something of a rebel, going to live at the small farming town of Zurau (where Franz would join her for a few months in 1917-1918) in order to experience country life. She also rebelled by marrying a non-Jew, Josef David, in 1920, and had two daughters, Vera (born 1921) and Helene (born 1923). She seems to have been the only one who could understand Franz.
